The Dirty Dozen: The Series (1988)
Director: Various
Starring: Ben Murphy, John Slattery, John D'Aquino, Jon Tenney, Glenn Withrow and more.
Dirty Dozen: The Series was based on the 1967 movie The Dirty Dozen. Filmed in Yugoslavia, it followed Lieutenant Danko as he is given the task of putting together a team during WW2 - his team consisting of Army criminals. The show aired from April 30, 1988 to July 30, 1988. There were 7 of 13 episodes that aired on FOX (opposite the Vietnam War drama "Tour of Duty") and once it was cancelled due to low ratings, FOX refused to pay MGM/UA for the remaining episodes.
The episode titles were: Danko's Dozen (2 hour pilot), Code Name Romulus, Colonel Mustard In the Library With a Luger, The 13th Man, A Quiet Weekend in the Country, Charge of the Dozen, The Dirtiest Show on Earth, Heavy Duty, Remember St Luc (2 hours), Don Danko and Baby Brigade.
Glenn played Roy Beauboff, whose brother Vern (Mike Jolly) was also part of the team. An article circa 1988 said that "The most impressive members of the force are Mike Jolly as odd Vern and Glenn Withrow as his weird brother Roy. Theirs is the kind of poignantly screwball relationship you don't see every night."
In an 1988 interview, Ben Murphy said "They wanted to kill off guys people started to love but Glenn Withrow has been extended and extended. He's very cute-interesting-cute and they keep extending him. On the one hand, he'd like to go back to LA ... "Purchase Information
